Sorry to see our local boy, Sean Marshall, not finish the 5th and unfortunately Pujols' hit was just a foot or two away from being an inning-ender that would have prevented the last two runs from scoring. But still a decent showing for a kid just up from AA!

Hard to believe we were just working with Sean 2 1/2 months ago here as he helped a HS group with their indoor workouts at a coaching facility here. We enjoyed getting to know him and hope you Cubs fans treat him well.

They are already doing plenty of trash talking. I refuse to ever go to another Cardinals/Cubs game. I went to one last year in St Louis. Cubs won - You would have thought they won the stinking World Series....they were only 10 back at that point.

Cubs fans only have a few bragging rights - but not for long. The Cardinals and ALL the other National League teams will leave them in the dust. How about the REDS!!!

I was referring to yesterdays Cubs vs Reds game - I could care less about the Reds - I always root for whoever plays the Cubs. Give it up - it won't be this year either!

The Cubs bullpen may be the best in the NL this year. The additions of team speed and a better bullpen should have them contending all season.

I've always like Pierre and was hoping that the Sox would've made an offer for him, but Pagan and the other guy (both of whom came out of nowhere) should be back in AAA in the next 60 days.

Murton came out of no where? He was a million dollar draft pick. Oh, by the way....the Cub's bullpen is better than the Sox bullpen.

Cubs bullpen is most improved from last year . They proved it sunday night against Cards . Wuertz and Williams did a great job in the middle innings to hold the Cards down . With the addition of Howry and Eyre continuing to improve , if they can hold down the fort until its time for Dempster ...Cubs will pick up a lot of wins .

Thats the only thing they "might" pick up - sure won't be a World Series trophey!!
