Having early picks, my opinion is that the Royals pick who they can afford and that is usually hitters. Pitchers would cost them too much. It may have to with their park.

They do have a good farm system, which makes them an enigma to many, really hard to figure out their game plan.

I think that each team has a philosophy and the winners are the ones that stick with their game plan.

Drafted players have no say, but I hear that free agents do consider park factors, AL, NL and of course the almighty dollar. There isn't much loyalty these days on either side. Of course all players want to be on a winning team, but they also would rather be on ANY team making a half million dollars (min pay) rather than in milb.
