Interesting. When I was a kid (80's) I wouldn't consider wearing anything but Nike. Then, in the 90's, when a $20 Nike t-shirt fell apart at the seams after being washed one time (and the tag said made in Sri Lanka or Bangledesh or the Phillipines) I gave up on them as junk and avoided Nike products completely. Glad to hear maybe they got the consumers message.

I'm hearing Nike is on the high end and the Demarini is on the low.

My son and his teammates would disagree. They had two Nike's and a Rawlings for Fall use and DID NOT like them one bit. That is no different than we have always felt about Nike bats (refer back two years to what Univ. of Georgia's Gordon Beckham had to say about their "****** Nike bats" as reported by ESPN).

Just this week they (Sons's school) received two Omaha's. Team work is over so they have only used them in the Cage. Reportedly their performance is far superior to the others as CATCHER 101 reported in an earlier thread from U-Kentucky. Must say, we have had no experience with Demarini other than Son always felt that the performance of the CF3 (now CF4) lagged behind that of the Voodoo (CF4 is composite while Voodoo is hybrid).

Also, his school is a D2 and they've had the Nike bats all season. So schools other than D1 must be able to get their hands on them.

Thanks for posting that article as it is a great reference.

Also, congrats as I am jealous. I never saw a year that I did not have to buy PrimeJr. a new weapon. He either sucked all the life out of em, or just grew so much that he needed a bigger version. Nothing like being able to save $400.00! One of the great benefits of College ball is that I no longer have baseball equipment expenses. However, I kind of miss being a part of all that stuff... bought him a new Baum for Christmas, to use in outdoor Cages this Winter. Just can't seem to break the old habits.
