one of the few sports where size really doesn't matter. I was watching the Baseball Classic and was amazed at the short size of some of the guys. Some of the rakers playing for the usa was David Wright listed at 6'0 probably 5'10 and the ultimate shorty Dustin Pedrioa 5'9. Size didn't stop these guys, and as far as pitchers Lincecum throws nasty cheese and he is 5'11 160lbs, oswalt is 6-0 and peavy is 6'1. Gotta love baseball...of course doesn't hurt to be 6'3 215lbs either

it's a lotta work you know to do more than 1 post a year. The truth is not too much free time on my hands with kids, work, an dlife in general.

Son is young, 7th grade he is a late bloomer only 5'3 108lbs., but tough as nails and is hanging with the big guys. He played well for one of those nationally ranked elite baseball teams (yes my wife and I are baseball nuts mainly her, no kidding). Seriously, he can play, he really is just a kid, playing for a coach who loves the big mature kids. Twelve, was an eye opener, make no mistake puberty rules at that age, but toughness and mechanics will prevail.

BTW i am 6'1 and wife is 5'8 so his time for growth will come when it arrives watch out but for know i will stick with the short guy mantra.

Talent and/or projection out rules everything. Those players are where they are because of their talent, period.

No way you can ever tell what a player in 7th grade will be like in 12th grade. He may even fool you, being a bb player, he may suddenly decide he wants to participate in something else. We all assume because they love it so young they will love it later.

BTW, I am 5'2" and husband is 5'10" and we have a 6'4" (he grew recently) player and a 5'4" daughter. The height is on my side, beleive it or not, not hubby's. You never know how genetics are going to work out. Not sure why you all wonder about the future, enjoy the moment.
