You're just thinking of starting your own academy...right?

Well...after a little research here goes...

NW STAR ACADEMY 'R' NOT US Baseball Training Academy
Lewis & Clark's Excellent Baseball Adventure and Training Academy
Creative and Catchy Baseball Training Academy
    GO BEAVS Baseball Training Academy
Portland (Could Have Been Boston) Red Sox Baseball & Coin Flipping Training Academy
Tree Hugger Haven Baseball Training Academy
    Rainout's Baseball Training Academy
No Way But Multnomah's Way Baseball Training Academy
Dan and Louie's Aw Shucks Brackish Baseball Training Academy
Linear Or Rotational...No Matter Baseball and Boxing Training Academy

Do you think any of those will work?

I was reading your post and I couldn't help but reply. I don't know that I would actually label ours a "Training Academy" but we are opening a batting cage facility May 19th. It is called DINGERS, the hitter's hideaway.

To make a long story short, I have been struggling with running my father's Pattern shop for 4 years after he died suddenly of a heart attack at age 51. It was an emotional and financial struggle and last September I made a decision to call it quits. I could not handle the stress anymore. At that, time we closed, without even having a plan. All I knew was that I couldn't do it anymore. My whole family had worked there so it was pretty scary. My mom owns the building and we were deciding if we should sell or lease.....then we went to the Jupiter Tournament with the College Select team in October (Thanks TR!). My son was looking for a place to go hit, we took him to Hit and Run. As we were leaving, my husband looked at me and said "hey....this building looks like OUR building". What a Light bulb moment!

We immediately started planning and are really moving along with construction, web site, logo apparel, etc. Our opening day is May 19th, my father's birthday (and the reason why my son wears #19)

We are very excited to have something positive going on after 4 REALLY rough and sad years. I don't post much and have been meaning to share this with everyone, now seemed like a good time.

As for names, we brainstormed all of the time and kept a list. Come up with a list of "requirements" of what you have in mind. For our purposes we wanted something catchy, not too "trendy" but definitely baseball slang, something that had to do with hitting and preferably 1 word (we go by DINGERS). The name DINGERS just kept coming up among us over and over and it just seemed right, just kind of stuck with us. Another name that people seemed to like was BP Warehouse. Like I said, our facility is not really a "training academy" per se, but we have learned ALOT going through this process and really believe that we will have a great place for baseball players and fans to "hang out". If you have any questions that I could help you out with, please let me know.

Sorry to everyone for the LONG post, couldn't help myself...
