Baseball coaching salaries

Depends on the district and stipend on top of your teaching salary - can vary school to school. If you need specifics look at the teachers salary schedule online at the district you are looking at coaching in and add about a nickel per hour - you cam PM if you need more specifics.

my Head Baseball stipend is 5,ooo..Assistant football another 4,000. Altogether where i am. 47,000 roughly. My wife is staying home with our baby this year. after insurance, car payments and rent.....We might starve.

You're one of the highest paid non-head football coaches I know ~ Congratulations.

BTW A nickel an hour is way below the actual stipend average. In 1976 it ran about 23 cents an hour and in 2005 when I retired it had climbed to 59 cents an hour. I forgot ~ An all expense paid vacation in Waco every year as well.

That's a pretty healthy stipend in districts I've been in.

I am embarassed to say what I make...and I don't coach football.

First year teaches in the Keller School District make $42,000 before any stipend. Maybe you just aren't in the right district

I coach at a juco here in N. Texas, and I would hate to reveal my actual salary, but it's less than 10K. I would make more money as the volunteer at all DI's, which is hopefully in the near future. Thank goodness I know how to make money in other ways. Good luck to all of you other coaches.

My head baseball stipend is 3500 and i get 2000 for my second sport. Small school.

i've interviewed and been a fialist for some pretty good 5A straight baseball positions..hope to get one next time..And yes some do pay well. I'm not complaining.

Get your application in for Mansfield Legacy, it opens next fall. They will be taking some good kids away from me at Summit. Mansfield ISD pays their head coaches very well!

Great budgets, no field work, supportive booster club.

Legacy's principal came from Summit, he is a good one. He has a great baseball name, David Wright!

Thanks for the input! I am entertaining the idea of trying for a "baseball only" (no teaching at first) position at the HS ranks. My resume is pretty complete. 12 years pro ball, 2 years service time in the bigs, 5 1/2 years professional (pitching coach with some fill-in managerial experience). I would love to get into D1 coaching but I know how hard that shell is to crack. Any info on new positions or where to access them would be greatly appreciated. If you don't want to teach, then you need to look at the private schools as a part time coach.

I teach 2 classes a day on an accelerated block schedule.

Smitty -- no teaching??? What do you think this is? - a football message board?

Last year on block - I taught 2 classes per day at about 1:25 per class - now 7 period days I teach 5 periods a day.

It will be nice next year when we get a freshman athletic period for baseball!!!

If you find a baseball only with no teaching - let us know - I was excited about getting a baseball / no football position!!

I teach in a temporary in the morning and head out to the field house in the afternoon. I send a student to get my mail from my mail box.
