Should be an easy essay to write.

Some similarities are:

--Opportunity to play against high level of competition.

--Relentless, ruthless competition with zero job security in an "up or out" system;

--Trying to stay healthy enough to get better fast enough to keep playing, and

--Daily grinds (poverty and bus rides for minor leaguers; academic requirements for college players) that make it hard to be rested, prepared and conditioned for each practice and game.

He's a senior taking some college courses so his workload won't be as great so he can concentrate on baseball.  All he has of right now is "time commitment".  Writing has never been his strong suit and neither is mine.

Senior...hmmm.  No offense, but why on earth is he asking you?  He can google this topic and quickly get to this site and get tons of research information.  Maybe the best answer to give him is "How on earth would I know?  When you find out I'd love to read your paper and learn something".
