My 2014 had a rough night pitching last night. Team we played was a team at bottom of our league. He is considered a top pitcher in our league. First inning he gave up 6 runs on 2 BB and 5 hits, 48 pitches. Coach went out and talked to him but didnt do much for that inning.. After that he pitched like himself, 5 more innings, 50 pitches 6 k's, no hits. The damage was done however and we lost 6-2.
His twitter post last night was "The game of baseball always finds a way to humble you".
Although I feel bad for him and know he was beyond frustrated at that inning, the fact that he settled down and continued to pitch was nice to see. 2 years ago, he would have continued to not pitch well. He would have been so angry at himself.
So though his team lost last night. I got to see my son be a man in a tough spot which makes me more proud of him that winning a baseball game
