How do you go about finding all the baseball schools in your area? My son would like to go on and play at the next level, but he's not sure what will fit with him. Obviously we know the bigger programs, D-1 etc... But there are tons of opportunities at smaller schools. We just need help in finding out where they are.

I though there used to be a baseball guide that listed that information, but can't find it.

Any help??

Looking at the midwest area, AR, MO, KS, IL, OK etc....
Thanks!!

Here is a link I found to be very useful:

College Search

It will allow you to specify what kind of school (2yr / 4yr), which regions &/or states, what activities you are interested (such as baseball), what degree you may want and a host of other options. It will generate a list of every school meeting your criteria and you can click on the names to get a summary of size, costs, etc.

I found it to be a nice aid for finding all the schools in our area that play baseball.

Very nice site it really came in handy for both our kids as high school schedules for the gall are due tomorrow and they were able to see if they were on track for the schools they are interested in.

Baseball America also publishes a guide to every baseball program in the U.S., college and pro. You can get it with a subscription, or I think you can buy it separately.

I would recommend that you buy U.S. News & World Report's annual college guide. In addition to its rankings, its appendices include state-by-state listings of ALL colleges in your state. This provides you with a starting checklist. You can start circling the ones that interest you (academics, cost, etc.) and crossing off ones that don't. Then you will have maybe 5 schools whose baseball programs you need to investigate instead of hundreds.
