In a normal MLB swing, you are shifting your weight from the back to the front, so I'm having a hard time understanding how this "aid" does anything helpful. At contact, you should not be "balanced"; all of your weight should be on your front foot.
This aid seems to promote a slow, timid, movement forward.

Hard to tell if the front part of the teeter-totter
lands before or after contact.
It seems to be promoting a nice weight shift though.

This device has only been available since late last spring. This is it's first "off-season".
The device definately makes the hitter more aware of what his bottom half is doing, right or wrong, and making adjustments based on what they feel. Shortens the learning curve.

Very disappointing that this stuff sells...Oh well!
