Surprised no one picked this up. Very sad, my heart goes out to family and friends.

I saw that earlier today and it's such a tragedy. I'm not sure why a kid that young was a bat boy for any team and my heart and prayers go out to that young boy and his family. But they also go out to the guy who was swinging the bat. From what I can tell it was just a freak accident and now this guy will have that on his conscious.
If you're friends with J H on Facebook he has a gofundme set up for this kid. Not sure who started it but might be a worthy cause for some people.
Although we read about this yesterday, I couldn't bring myself to discuss it. This is the definition of heartbreaking.
Here's the link to the fundraising site. Warning: the photo may cause you to choke up with tears:
There is another thread on this. For some reason it was not getting many views...
Absolutely heart breaking. I saw a middle school kid get hit last year near a college on-deck circle. Very scary. Prayers for the team, the child, his family and friends.
Condolences for the family and for the player involved. They just had this story on CNN. The players were really torn up. I couldn't even begin to imagine how they feel. So sad and heartbreaking.
Prayers to the family. I saw a kid get his nose broken, similarly at a travel ball tournament, when my son was 17u. He was on an opposing team. Ever since I always questioned the use of young boys a bat boys. It is a sad moment in baseball.
I am so terribly sorry to see this tragic occurrence. Heartfelt condolences for all involved.
Boy that's rough. I just read two articles, but it took some time. Some of you know I spent a lot of time as a bat boy myself growing up. I was in a high school dugout when I was his age. And I got hit several times by balls and even by a bat once. It is definitely something that everybody must be aware of...
I have seen so many close calls over the years its not even funny, there was a little bare foot 4-5 year old at lakepoint a couple weeks ago cute as could be running out picking up bats, I hope his folks pass on the bat boy job for now on.
