We had this play last night in a 10-11 year old game.

the batter hit a ball off the end of his bat, ball roles about 5 feet just down the first base line. Batter drops bat, the catcher (who was a beginner) accidently kicked the bat, effectivly blocking or stopping the ball from roling into foul ball territory. The kid reached first base. The coach of the team on defense raised a big stink because the ball was going to role into fall territory. Pretty interesting, unusual play.
Umpire calls batter out for "double hit"... ???
He smoked the call if the batter was in the box then compounded it by threatening you with an ejection.

He can raise all the stink he wants, it just baseball. Many times the 10/11 coaches are only slightly less clueless than the players.
Yeah, I had a beauty a few days ago in an 11u tournament game. Runners on 1st and 3rd, one out. Batter puts a ground ball in play, everyone's moving, 2B throws the batter/runner out at 1st for the second out of the inning, runner from third is now crossing home plate, r1 makes the turn at 2nd and heads for third where he is thrown out by 1B. End of inning.

PU announced "3 outs, run scores". The head coach for the defensive team comes running out yelling that the run shouldn't count. I'm at the screen with a friend about 10 feet away. Blue tries to explain that the runner crossed home well before the out at third. Coach won't have it, he kept saying "the run doesn't count if it's a double play". "No way, not on a double play". He wouldn't let it go but didn't get run surprisingly. I happen to know the PU and I was going to say something like "you really blew that one" just to mess with him. But the coach was losing his mind so I decided to keep my yapper shut.
