True, but headshots are a different animal.  You're risking a serious injury or worse.

If it was a mistake, that's one thing - but we don't know the context here.  If the batter thought the pitcher was intentionally throwing at his head, I would expect some type of reaction of this sort.  Not that it is "right", just that it doesn't surprise me.  If he had just charged the mound we probably wouldn't even be discussing it.

I'm curious about what else had happened prior to this video.  Pitchers usually don't randomly throw at a batter's head, and batters usually don't throw their bat at the pitcher. Something was probably already brewing.

After watching and reading the posts there is no way of knowing what exactly the situation is.There didn't look to be anyone on base.Could the plunking have been intentionel? Unless someone has more facts I don't know.I do know one thing from just watching games being played. My guy would be in the category of High scholl baseball age.He also pitches.I have yet to see a pitcher from any team hit someone on porpuse.I have witnessed a ton of batters acting like they were hit intentionally with all the crap that goes with it.Of course you were hit intentionally theres only 2 guys on base with 2 outs.Of course you were hit intentionally in your teams last at bat while losing by 1 run with no outs.I think you all get my drift. If the 99.99% of the guys that get hit and end up having bad attitudes about it.Had even a shot glass full of any type of baseball knowlage. They would realize if there was intent.Take your base and hope it works out for the best for your team.
