I think the MLB umps blew it last night. Padres @ Brewers. Padre batter swings. Ball hits sharply in front of plate and bounces up. Batter hits it again (unintentionally) with bat as he running out of the box. BOTH feet were still in the box. PU calls him out for INT. They get together. Call stands. (Not reviewable...not sure why not). Announcers say "if the ball hits your body, its foul, but the bat makes it INT."...huh? Never heard of that before!!  (home announcers, of course) Someone explain...is OBR different than FED in this case?  I only do FED. I've got a foul ball here. Padre skipped argued...no luck. Just to be clear...the ball didn't hit the bat....the bat hit the ball AND both feet were in the box.

The general philosophy:

FED:  He's a batter until one foot hits the ground outside the batter's box (so this would be a foul ball).

OBR:  He's a batter until one foot comes up off the ground and he begins to run (so this is an out).

This was also not an immediate hit off the batter, nor did the ball bounce back up immediately and hit him or the bat (as you might see on a bunt that goes straight down and straight back up off the plate)
