I have a question regarding an obstruction call,
here is the scenario:

we were defense when our catcher tried throwing down to third base with a runner stealing, the batter in the box clearly went forward towards the pitchers mound to block the throw. The plate ump sent the runner back to second base(with much objection from the opposing coach)and the obstructing batter got back in for his at bat, our pitcher pitched him a ball, when the field ump must of thought about the obstruction call and called time and conferred with the plate ump... after the meeting they ruled the batter OUT for obstruction(this of course got the opposing coaches and parents in a tizzy. The question is was this an appropriate call? Or was the batter entitled to legally finish his at bat, since he received a pitch after the obstructing call?
Thanks in advance.
