High school game.  Bases loaded 1 out.  Batter hits high fly ball deep to left center.  Left and center fielder are running to the ball and tough to tell if they would get there or not.  R3 and R1 (R1 is at 1st) are tagging R2 is 3/4s of the way down the line towards 3rd. Batter/runner passes runner at first and ball is not caught in the outfield, runners take off.

R3, R2 and Batter/Runner all cross the plate.  R1 stops at third.  Umpires call 2 outs, not sure how he got two outs here unless R2 passed R3 at some point.  So when does the out take place?  The batter/runner had passed R1 well before the ball dropped to the ground so that should be 2 outs in the inning and 2 runs should be scored.  Not sure why the 3rd out was called, but the two runs scored.  Trying to figure out if any runs scored if R2 passed R3 at some point.  There would be 3 outs prior to R3 crossing the plate.

something is definitely missing because the situation as described (two outs on the play and two runs still scoring) can't happen.

BR is out as soon as he passes R1.  So his run cant score. That also removes any forces (and is out #2 in the inning).

maybe R1 then missed second and was declared out on appeal.  That appeal would likely happen after R2 and R3 scored.
