Which stat is more important to pro scouts. I have heard a good OBP is more important than BA. What are y'alls thoughts on the subject. If there are any scouts out there I would really like to have your opinons on this.

Spring better hurry and get here. There isn't a lot to talk about on here Smile

If you're asking about HS or college stats they mean virtually nothing to pro scouts.

Scouts are going to evaluate your tools as a prospect and the ability of you to use those tools in professional baseball. They will make their educated guess as to how your tools will play in pro ball. They have zero interest in how you hit against HS or college pitchers.

If you were asking about the importance of minor league stats (batting average vs. OBP) I would tell you it depends on the player’s position and the organizational philosophy. Some teams favor OBP while others like SLG/ BA.

I wouldn't say "zero interest" in college stats at least. Certainly, many of the more Moneyball orgnizations, [Oakland. Toronto, Boston, to name the beter known] seem to put a lot of stock in OPS with is On-base percentage plus slugging. However, they do still usually want to see you before drafting you. I can't wait for spring either PHSBF. Good luck.
