BBCOR required in 2011?

Not sure about NFHS but GHSA (Georgia Association) website still says they are legal this year 2010-2011 and have a list posted of approved BESR composite bats.

Baseball Express has BBCOR bats (Louisville Slugger) bats for sale.

That is dated 7/28. The email, again from the Virginia High School League, stated that NFHS had decided (last week) to move up the date to require BBCOR for the 2010-11 school year.

In Virginia, they moved up the date to require BBCOR bats for composite-barreled bats (only); metal-barreled BESR bats will continue to be allowed until spring 2012..

I think we just need to let this play out. It's like trying to predict the out come of a game before it is played.

My eldest is playing JC ball and prefers wood over BBCOR. He has only swung the Demarini and he did not like it. The local D1 program is swinging Nike BBCOR and they seem to like it! I have not heard any comments yet on the Louisville Slugger BBCOR. My son's have been swinging the Omaha for years, so it will be interesting how this bat performs. Knowing their history, it will be good. Keep swinging,
