BBI now has three separate divisions in the 18U and 16U leagues. The divisions are BBI Premier, BBI Select and BBI Tarrant County. The Premier Division is comprised of the upper-tier teams, the Select Division is the open division as BBI has always had and the Tarrant County Division is for teams that want to play primarily on the west side of the metroplex. BBI was also able to lower the team entry fees almost a $1,000 per team from last year which resulted in other local leagues having to do the same.

IMO, the BBI Premier Division is something that has been long overdue to happen. Most of North Texas’ strongest teams have agreed to compete together and the end result is that the competition and exposure levels will be fantastic for the kids on these teams. Also makes it exciting when you're playing those caliber of teams every game, every week. I think it's worth noting that the BBI Premier Divisions are not exclusive - other teams may join with a 2/3 approval of the current teams.

18U BBI Premier Division:
Dallas Panthers 18
Dallas Patriots 18
Dallas Tigers 18
Dallas Tigers 17
DBAT 18
DBAT 18U
Fort Worth Cats 18
Lake Highlands Wildcats 18
Texas Blackhawks 18

16U BBI Premier Division:
Dallas Drillers 16
Dallas Giants 16
Dallas Panthers 16
Dallas Patriots 16
Dallas Tigers 15
DBAT 16
Fort Worth Cats 16
Frozen Ropes Blue Sox 16
Texas Blackhawks 16

DBAT --why not bring one of those teams or a Premier League All Star Team up to our Warwick Wood Bat Tournament in August--- call me if interested

Thanks for the invite TR but we have a pretty busy fall program playing at UT, Baylor, Rice, UTA, DBU and others. Connecticut is kind of far to go when we have so many nice colleges and an abundance of pro scouts right here in our back yard.

eassyyyyy justsittininthestands...
did you see the VP of the 18U Division... just because someone is on the board, doesn't mean they are pulling any strings.... BBI is as by the book on rules/procedures as a league can be..

Well put. Usually if you're on the board, then you are asked to give more than you actually receive. That goes for everything about the league. Top notch people - all with integrity and sound principles.
Stand Sitter

The Patriots 16U team was voted in just as all teams were. Not sure of the dynamics, but all teams who wanted in submitted their requests\qualifications and were voted on by all the coaches. Again, not sure of the dynamics but 70% vote total was the number I heard to gain acceptance. The Patsies did win the AABC MM World Series in 2003 if you remember.

Agree with Pan Am, all the board members I know are all men of integrity. BBI is the finest league around when it comes to rules, procedures and fairness to all parties. Any rulings regarding any elligibility or protests are made by the trustees, who to my knowledge, no longer even coach in the league. They donate their time to continue the tradition of fairness started long ago by BBI.
My sincere apology to the fine folk(s) that head up BBI. I meant no harm to the board or league as a whole. However, just because my opinion about one division varies from a couple of your opinions does not make my opinion less valid. Just different than your opinion. Again, one person, for me, does not reflect badly on the terrific things BBI does day in and day out and season in and season out.

Correct me if I'm wrong (and I'm quite certain someone will)... didn't some of the potential "premier" teams opt out due to the cost involved?
I was directly involved with the BBI Premier Divisions and there was not a single team that backed out of playing. Out of all of the organizations invited to participate only the Mustangs and Marshals declined.

The teams fees for BBI's 16U and 18U leagues this year are $2500. That's down from a $3400 team fee in previous years and still cheaper than Lonestar which charged teams $2700 for this summer. The total number of BBI teams at 16U/18U this summer is an all-time high of 60+ teams.

I will echo the sentiments here that many of the men that contribute so generously of their time to the BBI Board of Directors are some of the finest men I have known.

First of all....from my perspective....justsittin'inthestands was not implicating the BBI Board of Directors. Secondly, who are they? BBI has a fine reputation --- and a storied history -- but are some of you looking for a blanket endorsement from those that have an issue (or two) with a particular team involved in the league? As someone mentioned earlier, the reputation of one team (generically speaking) cannot ruin the integrity of the league or its other members.

Where is the list of BBI board members listed?
Sorry, about that Texan, but I had BBQ in OKC last weekend.

The OKC brisket was better than the CT possum which usually disagrees with me.

PD, I'll have my phone tomorrow night, in case you need a seat.

They graciously transferred my deposit on the pool to the Dr. Pepper pool in Frisco.

Bring your trunks and an inner tube.

But, you better come tomorrow night, because I'll probably have more come from my family than there are seats in Allen.
