My son is an excellent pitcher. Unfortunately, he's a 5-8", 135# right hander so the D1 and D2 schools aren't interested in him despite his 25-0 high school pitching record. So, we've been looking at D3, NAIA, and small private schools. He went to a tryout and we were thrilled that he was invited to join a team at a 4-yearschool. We were just about to commit to the school and I went through their website one more time. I thank my lucky stars that I did. I found out that they are not accredited by one of the 6 accreditation agencies that are accepted across the country.
Since my son wants to be a teacher, he would have had a horrible surprise when he took his degree to another university to get his credential and was told that he couldn't get a credential because his degree was not from a regionally accredited university.
Just to be clear, if a university is not accredited by one of these agencies, DO NOT send your child to attend them. The courses will not be transferable and the degrees will be useless.

I apologize if I offended any coaches from unaccredited schools.
