Ryan pitched a great game but he didn't get the win, neither starter did.

However both pitched phenomenal games.

Mormimando for OL went 7 and had either 14 or 15 K's,
Cook went 7 for FC and had at least 12 K's..

FC won with a walk-off HR in bottom of 9th off of Alex Lambert who took the loss for OL. Not sure of the name of the 2nd FC pitcher who got the win.

It was a great game.

morimando and Cook were awesome, great day for baseball, the District will come down to each teams number 2 pitcher, we know PA has 3 top notch guys, OL has the best #1 guy, but FC has 1 and 1A.
Morimando is complete package, he jacks the ??? out of the ball. I'm glad the head of Umps was there today, I've seen the strike zone widen by a good 6 inches with certain pitchers, brutal, that's got to stop, I've seen it now in 2 games with the pitchers reputation,, yeah, I might have stirred the pot, but these guys are too good to get help from BLUE, Morimando is Tom Glavin in disguise, lol
Charlie Richards made a great throw from Left Field to prevent another OL run,

It was a great pitchers dual!! And kudos to FC for the Win at home in their newly renovated dugouts and field!!!!!! Way to go Patriots!!!!!!!!!!!!
the run Rienerth gave up was an error on the catcher, K:d 14, got the win, but how come the Ol play by play guy didnt do the the FC,Ol game? He wasn't there? I mean, he's givin us every inging of their wins, how about a play by play from their their loss?
Go ECU, I agree, but to ignore the FC/OL game?but then post 10 run wins, ok, that's arrogant.
Luv stirring the pot, but come on guys, Everyteam will have a good day/ BAD DAY, BUT POST THE GOOD WITH THE BAD,

Pilots81, Thanks for the early morning laugh. I realize that the Va Pilot can't have the correct box score of the FC/OL game because it showed the score as 2-1 at the end of 7 in which event there would not have been extra innings. However, following their box score, it looks like no runs were scored in the FC/OL game until the 4th and the next run was not scored until the 7th. Are you suggesting that Go ECU is clairvoyant, knows the outcome of games in advance and chooses to give the play by play only on the ones he knows that OL will win? If so, I wonder if he is available to go to Vegas?

I didn't see his inside reporter (little brother) at the OL-FC game. Sorta hard to write accurate report with no-one feeding you play by play info.

What I want to read about is how Cox was able to beat PA.
lol, I wasn't talking about the Va Pilot, but I look forward to this web site for updates, WB reporter does a great job as does the OL guy, my comment was to let the OL guy know that all is inning by inning updates are great, when they are blowing people out, how about when they get beat or someone runs into trouble?
also in the OL/Fc game, I saw maybe the greatest High School pitch, Merimondo? threw a 3 and 1 curve ball with a man on 1st no outs, bottom of 7th, he then struck the kid out on the next pitch, I mean a 3 and 1 curve ball, in the 7th, man on 1st, wow,oh, and FC did intentionally walk Merimondo 2 times.
Its going to be a great season.
Sorry I didn't post, I am a bit biased to OL, yes, but that is cause I PLAYED for them. As far as being fairweather, I do post just as accurate posts about their losses like I did last year, problem is I do not know much about the other teams so it is a bit harder for me to post as accurate updates.

But vaangelsfan is right, my little brother or father are the ones that text me with updates, neither were at the game Tuesday. I go to school down here at ECU and can't make it to games 2 and 1/2 hours away.

Tuesday, however, I had practice with my own team, my own things to worry about. I'm sorry that it bothered you or made it seem as though I wasn't fair to post a write up, but I never even thought of it. OL doesn't exist when I am on the field, ECU does. Also, my little brother plays s****r for OL and they had a game that night, so it didn't accomodate with my family to drive all the way to FC, as much as my family loves watching OL play.

Thank you for those who know my situations etc... I always try to post updates as much as I can, win OR lose. When I am not at a computer, you can go to twitter and check quicker updates @MidBuie1.

Thanks you!
Good luck to everyone this season, also go check out the Norfolk Tides this season as Ocean Lakes and UVa Alum Mike Ballard is on the roster to start the 2011 season!

Pilots,

he lives 3 hrs away, and can only post based on information he recieves from people at the game. Therefore, if noone he canspeak to is at the game, he cannot report the score. He is a full time college student, who plays club baseball. As soon as you wish to pay him for his write ups, Im sure he would be glad to show up and give full posts for every game. But unitl then, just sit back and enjoy the posts he is able to, or just give it a rest. Count it.
It blocked out the word s o c c e r ? Hahaha hsbaseballweb does it again.

And as far as yesterday, couldn't update as I had pregame BP to take as we took on UNC. Lambert foound trouble in the first after back to back hits to leadoff the game. Kempsville could hit, just wasn't timely, except in the first. Sounded like OL's bats pick and choose when to show up (mainly Fridays)... Aside from the fact Ryan Cook is an outstanding pitcher and player in general and stunned OL on Tuesday. I know he pitched an outstanding game.
Redbird,

I personally am never sad to get a win! Jmu has some guys that are really hitting the ball. They have a new facility that I understand is beautiful. Wish that the Ryan Kilmon from Kellam was playing but he has an injury.

There are quite a few local kids that would be love to be recruited by JMU. And they get to wear Purple!

ECU guy, let me know if you come up for the game on 4/26 against ECU. I would love to buy you a beer. Just don't tell grasscutter. ODU plays at VCU on 4/1,2,3.

I will rephrase...Being excited about beating JMU is 1 game is indicative of the state of baseball at ODU. THAT is sad.

JMU's new facility is very nice, BTW.

GEEZ REDBIRD,
You really know how to make friends and influence people. Hope that works out for you!!!

Pot, meet kettle.

Baseball was a casualty of "selective excellence". That is a fact. We should EXPECT to beat JMU.

I like what Nate, Tags and Tim are doing. I hope they get a chance to continue it. Good job winning the series.

Kettle to Pot

TOO LATE REDBIRD,

You already made a shot at JMU and ODU in one breath. I might add, not a very strategic move!

Out one side of your mouth-baseball is sad at ODU
The other side of your mouth-like what they are doing!

Which one is it? The one that you want them to read.

This kettle will stay with what she believes and move on. This will always mean supporting ODU. To the parents of ODU and JMU players reading this, please take redbirds comments with a grain of salt. He is peppered at me for critisizing his team.

By the way, we should expect to beat everybody.

Thanks for playing!
What are you talking about so can understand me:

1) I am not "peppered" at you whatsoever.
2) My original comment was "Isn't it sad that we are excited when ODU beats JMU?!? I hope that changes soon" which translates to: ODU needs to raise it's expectations. Apparently, you read something else. If fans and alum are excited when we beat JMU, which is not even a Top 40 team, our expectations are too low. Matt Reid at Army is trying to change their motto from "Beat Navy" to "Beat Everybody". He is trying to change a culture, which leads to success. IMO, the same needs to be done at ODU. That was the intent of the statement, nothing else. I never said baseball at ODU was sad. Not once. Did you perhaps read it incorrectly?
3) I am an ODU alum. I don't care what parents from JMU think. ODU has recruiting advantages over JMU and should maximize them. It is not a shot at JMU at all.
4) I have spoken to Tag quite a few times and consider him a personal friend. He knows my point of view.
5) YOU are the one who chose to involve yourself in my comment. Perhaps it is you who is "peppered".

Is that clear enough for you? I'm not speaking out of both sides of my mouth.

Thank YOU for playing!
