So funny, you are! "indicative of the state of baseball" speaks for itself. No reading into that! Beating someone in your conference is always a good thing!

Who cares if you are an ODU alum, you should always care what parents at any school think of your comments posted on a website where YOU are the moderator!

Once again, not a very good stategic move. How about your next move be to just MOVE ON!!!!

GO MONARCHS!
Great win for local Great Bridge grad Phil McCarthy even if it was against JMU!

Tired of playing with you!
grasscutter,
Great to see your youngest got the win. Would love to see Wilmington again!

ECU- yes, he is hurt

By the way, I have been told and it may come as a surprise to some of you who may live in your own baseball bubble,
JMU won the division last year and was ranked 30th just last week??????? If this is accurate and I am quite sure it must be, I would have to say that it was a great win for ODU!!!

I shouldn't have expected anything less from you, Lynn. You make a mountain out of a molehill and it's often inaccurate.

JMU did not get any votes in the USA Today poll with 53 schools listed. They are not in the Top 25 of either Baseball America nor the Top 30 of Collegiate Baseball. They are not in the Top 30 of NCBWA poll, although they did receive votes. Here is the link for your verification: NCAA Rankings

You should probably stay in your ODU bubble.

Knew you couldn't resist making a comment. You just totally made my night!!!! I said last week they were ranked 30th. But thanks for taking the time to go and do some research! Hope Coach Spanky is made aware he is wasting his time trying to recruit any kids you coach or for that matter even know!!!! Bad mouthing me is one thing, bad mouthing programs is another!

Strike three, another very poor stategic move!

I am very content staying in my ODU bubble!!!! At least I am very consistent! Guess JMU wasn't picked to win the conference this year either??????

Interesting how it is always a mountain when you don't agree!

Just attempting to show those people reading this that JMU is not the "bottom feeders" that you make them out to be. In fact they have had some pretty good years recently.

Still tired of playing with you, but refuse to let you continue to belittle me! Guess it is a character flaw!!!! Just for the record.....you have NO idea what to expect from me!!!!

Way to go Monarchs!!!

After reading write-ups of JMU-ODU--I say good series win for Monarchs. Particularly, to go to Harrisonburg and win. You have to play a different game there.

McFarland will recruit to suit that park. With new bats, we are seeing a different game in college. Not at JMU. With all due respect to Jake Lowery (who I have seen play for years), when two players from the same team lead the nation in HR, I decided to look behind the stats. Going to be interesting to compare JMU stats, home vs away this year (so far this year, 18 home; 7 away games- granted 4 away games were at Diamond and UVA Davenport, pretty big parks, other three at W&M). But so far this year, JMU batting .391 home; .240 away. averaging 2.56 HR/game at home; .14/game away (exactly ONE HR in 7 away games). Slugging avg .732 at home; .288 away. JMU lowest ERA is 4.95.

The new field is laid out 180 degrees from the field that was there for 60 years before (home plate now where CF was before) so the spring breezes blow straight out; no trees or buildings to be a wind barrier; the place is a wind tunnel.
How's this for accurate information?

The Monarchs ended JMU's Streak of 11 straight CAA series wins. 11 straight series wins is pretty good! Wonder if all of those teams expected to take the series from JMU!

Also received an e-mail:

quote: Maybe Redbird is peppered because in 1993 JMU beat ODU in tournament. Not sure what that means, but was asked to put it on here.

There it is fella,

ODU fans,
Congrats on breaking JMU's streak. JMU did deservedly make the top 30 in the rankings after they swept us in three close games at Williamsburg. I found out after a good-natured thank you call from a JMU parent. Razz

What a great facility you have in "the Bud".
We were just down there last weekend. I wish I had thought to look up you regulars and have a cold one in rally alley! Maybe in two years we can have that Bud.
Since when is there such thing as a bad win? I didn't know that there was an extra slot in the standings that determined Wins, Losses and Bad Wins. A win is a win....Forget it and move on.

Anyways... There is bad blood in college sports and rivalries, teams can do anything on any given day. From my understanding ODU was playing up to JMU's level.

It's just a shame JMU isn't the REAL Purple and Gold!! Wink
