I have read the posts on this topic for a few years now and seems it always goes to "this team does this" and this team does that". The reality is, ALL TEAMS get together as often as they can. Baseball in this area is much different than many states that practice basically year round. Personally let the teams get the most prepared possible to show their skills and be in condition to help avoid injury. Afterall, this is for the players and they are the ones we should be concerned with.
Now, I think this may be a down year for overall talent up and down the District. That could make for one of the most competitive seasons in a long time. No clear cut choice the way I see it. There are Cox, Kellam, PA, Salem, Kempsville that could be placed in about any order.
We'll see how it goes and rest assured the outcome is decided on the field by the young men playing for the love of the game. Let's not water that down by the "he said" or "she said".
Genius:
I'm not so sure I would go quite so far to say they will do nothing. They still have some pretty good talent, a good group of kids that may surprise you. They have a few kids who can hit, a strong catcher, and at least one strong pitcher. I just don't think they will be competing for the top spot.

The "bunt" is a powerful weapon!
Eagleone, I guess you misunderstood me. When I said I think Kempsville will do nothing I mean that they don't have a very good chance to go anywhere in the district. They do have some good players and will be competitive, but I think its COxs district to lose this year. The only thing I have against Shows as a coach is that he tends to play favorites and puts his players down, a perfect example is before KHS beat FC last year he told his players "we could play the best games of our lives and still lose, their that good", and "They have three or four really good players and the rest of them are just like us" it may not seem like much or like constuctive criticsm, but this is why player after player transfers from KHS.
