From Larry Roundhouse:

Landstown beat Tallwood 16-7 in 8 innings. Great win, but the game was much closer than the fina reflected. The kid who threw second for Landstown was Ligit and kept them in the game. I can't believe it dragged on until almost no light! Umpires were terrible both ways! Kellam your next on Friday. Some parents need to know how to act as adults with the outspoken negative comments..it's only a game not the world series, the kids see and hear the same!

Who was #3 batter, did he play last year because he looked rusty for that spot in the line-up?

Yup, he was rusty. It's the first game of the year. Although I bet those that aren't rusty would take 2-for-6 with 3 RBI's. Wonder what he'll do when he shakes the rust off.

Also give credit to young culver lamb he pitched pretty good except the second inning.
One for six is rusty. I agree with you bball_lifer, imagine their #3 hitter not being rusty. That kid was playing left field I think. Has he ever played 1st base, looks like he has great hands for 1st? I thought the coach would of bunted him in the 6th or 7th, but I am sure the #3 hitter on a team does not bunt too much. Thanks Hellosir for the names.Do you know the last name of their SS. That kid is a gamer, took a ball for the team and just missed a beautiful bunt with the other team totally unexpecting it as well as throwing a great 7th.

I said 2-for-6. He does not play 1B, he's a primary OF, and a preseason All-Beach OF at that.

The SS is Nick Faison, who pitched the last two innings for the win.

What year are the preseason All-Beach list kids from Landstown and who has any offers from colleges?
Malbon kid has a great family and his brother was a great player at Cox and ODU.

Ferrante and Hinton are seniors, Faison is a junior.

Faison has already accepted an offer from Norfolk St.

Ferrante is probably Longwood-bound, and Hinton will go to VCU. Both of those are non-scholarship, for now.

Thanks for the information. I will now know who I am watching when I come to the games. I know a few other parents who have kids on other teams in the Beach Disrtict and Easten District, but have followed Landstown since about 2008 since its close to my house. They had a great Catcher/Pitcher/Utility player named Butler. That kid was unreal watching.

Cameron was there tonight helping out with the Landstown pitchers.
Nick Bay RHP at Cox has a chance to be very special, He's a soph, McCabe did well, Currin was good, Both F.C and Cox looked very young, but the pitching for both teams was pretty good, without a senior taking the mound, oh, the bats will make a huge difference this year, outfield for both teams were playing a good 20 feet in then normal, Cox and F.C will be better as the year goes on.

Wow, we are already putting up the all-beach predictions?! That didn't take long. Those pre-season picks from VA preps don't work if the kid playing isn't registered on the site. Long season, relax folks. And 2-6 (.300) is about right probably. This isn't BP, it's game time. If every kid on your favorite team hits .300 or better, you will probably have a good year. I'm looking at the scores and thinking some folks have pitching issues. Lot of runs scored for teams that should have been pitching their 1 or 2 starter. Maybe the pitchers were rusty too? Smile
