I think the spectators made more of it than they players.

Beachdad, you haven't been on here for quite some time. If my memory serves me correctly, I would have to agree, you are not a "Dad" of a player anymore.

Reaction from the catcher was due to the cox player grabbing his leg. Don't think he would have had to straddle the runner if he wasn't hanging onto his leg. Time wasn't called and runners were still on the bases.
On deck player from cox did have the bat but was not coming at the catcher. The kids all know each other, played summer ball together. Parents made more out of it than the kids.
Kellams parents yelling the player had a bat and Cox yelling for the catcher to get a life.
