Yesterday, I watched the World Baseball game Mexico vs Puerto Rico.
Benji Gill, Mexico Team Manager played in 1990 on our American HS team traveling to Japan for our 5th Goodwill Series with Korea and Japan National Teams.
During a "close" game in Osaka, Benji was on second base and scored on a "pass ball" to win the game against the Japan National HS team.
After the game I asked Benji "how did you know you would be successful"? the 18 year old San Diego HS player replied "I noticed the area behind home plate was very deep"!!!
One of the assets of team leadership is "observation"!
Yes, it can be taught.
