Listened to BB give phone interview on MLB network. What a refreshingly humble person. If those 5 writers who voted for no one (Jay Mariotti included) had properly done their due diligence then both men would have been elected.

Interestingly, on both ESPN and MLB, Robbie Alomar was the consensus number one choice for selection.

Totally agree. Bert was a fabulous pitcher here in Cleveland when our team stunk frankly. He is no doubt a hall-of-famer in my mind. People forget he played a key role out of the bullpen in the 1979 "We are family" Pittsburgh Pirates World Series Championship. He was a tremendous talent imho and one of the best curve balls I have ever seen. There are people with far less stats than him in the hall of fame.

Which HOF pitcher has "far" less stats than this Be home Blylevan guy.

Sandy Koufax has 165 wins.

Juan Marichal has 243 wins.

Catfish Hunter had 224 wins.

Nolan Ryan has a lower winning percentage albeit not "far less"

We can find more guys who have less than 287 wins. Blyleven is hampered by the fact he played for mostly cra-ppy teams in small markets imho.

People can always find reasons why someone ought to be in or someone ought to be left out. IMHO, Bert is a HOF pitcher.
