I'm too cheap to buy a new fancy bat because they're all about $250. I just bought a new Easton Hammer from Sportmart $32. It was the bargain of a lifetime. I used it im batting practice yesterday and It had good pop, The ball was shooting off of it pretty fast, so its good enough for me. I use a wood bat for batting practice as well, so Im only gonna use my new hammer for games so it stays in top shape since it was cheap.
My son has a Connection. He complained all last summer that it was "dead" (3 Homers, 5 balls off the wall). I wondered what he would do with a "live" bat.

He will be the starting RF as a Freshman on the HS Varsity this year. He drilled another homer off their ace in a scrimmage last Monday using a borrowed, year-old, well-used Omaha. So I ordered one on Friday for his birthday next week. It will be here Thursday.

After tonight's rain out, his first HS game will be Friday. He'll be pumped to begin with, the new bat should add to it.

Funny story...i sent my triple 7 bat back 2 easton about 5 weeks ago because it wasnt feeling right, nothing came so i ordered the new omaha classic...i got it this thursday, i get home from school friday and a brand new triple 7 is at my doorstep...used the omaha, very good handle and not as heavy as the triple7. i like the omaha because it has a small handle and it isnt flaired as much as the triple7 but the triple7 feels like i hit the ball a lot harder then the omaha...either one is great tho and i would probably go with the feel of the handle to choose the bat
(1) RESPONSE TPX (2) OMAHA TPX are the best that I have bought for my son in years!! The one thing he does is when he's not batting, the bats goes in his bag.He will loan out bats that he does not use anymore. But keeps his game bats to himself. I like louisville because of the warranty they give. Its like the others, but the seem to send his bats back faster when we send them in for dents ect.
The new blue TPX Omaha is an incredible bat with a great pop. I havent heard about any exploding. I also keep the Omaha in my bag until my turn a tbat to keep the great pop. The Omaha also comes with an incredible grip. Great Bat!

Baseball is like church. Many attend, but few understand.

My vote goes to the new Louisville Armor. I think the Response and Omaha are excellent, but the ball just flys off that Armor model (it is a bit pricey though).

The "exploding" TPX was the green Gen1x from last year.

Apparently the metal in some production runs was brittle and the bats would crack (sometimes in half apparently). Never seen it happen myself and my son and most of his teammates used that model all of last year without one problem. I was wondering if temperature conditions had anything to do with them cracking. Lousiville, from what I understand has never acknowledged a "problem". but, anyway, haven't heard of this problem with any other Louisville model before or since.

Have also heard good things about the Rawlings Liquid metal, but never seen one in use.
The Demarini Vexxum is an awesome bat. More pop than any bat on the market, today.

One of our players produced a new Vexxum at practice today. At batting practice, every player that used it, hit for extra distance. Our #2 & #4 batters produced 50% home run hits during batting practice. UNBELIEVABLE RESULTS!

Omaha is a very dependable bat. Very solid, durable, and lots of pop.

Armour is a nice bat with pop.

Connections go dead. Gen1X's explode (literally).

My son has an Exogrid and Kelley N Fuego. Before the Kelley arrived, he loved his Exogrid. Now, he pretty much swings just the Kelley. His one year on the Kelley is up in late May. He'll send it in for the one free replacement after the spring season ends.

In addition to spring hs ball, he plays about 40 summer games in 6 weeks. After football, his HS also fields a winter team to get back into shape. They practice once during the week beginning in late November and play weekend games through the end of January when HS spring season begins again.

My point being that his bats get plenty of game time. Except for a few summer woodbat tournaments (and all cage work), he uses the metal bats.

His Kelley has stood up well. Not much information out there yet from others on the Kelley.
