Interesting statement from a former coach at LT....

""There's great baseball around here," he said. "There are teams that might not win a game in this tournament that could win a regional or sectional up north. I used to coach at Lyons, which is a power up there, but I will take the brand of baseball played around here over anywhere else.""

Nobody!!! and I mean NOBODY, has been a baseball force year after year Like OAK PARK RIVER FOREST !!!! Check the record's for the last 20 year's heck 40 year's and Oak Park has a better record than anyone.!!!! Their feeder program is second to none with their Bronco and PONY leagues. Its so good not many 12-14yr old's,even play travel ball cause the in house is so good! And we are kicking butt again this year ,but what else is new. Also we have had the best coach's, Jack Kaiser, MR Gray, Chris Ledbetter, Sean Lawernce, Jim DOnovan, Scott Nelson. And many more.

THis topic is great for me b/c I started my teaching/coaching career at JT and have been at OPRF for 6 years. In my opinion, Huskie Power and styles are both right. OPRF pony and Bronco help the OPRF system reload year after year after year. Style is right in his case that there are 15 great HS programs within 10 miles of eachother and those schools are a lot easier to get to than huskieland. From Stagg to Minooka, you can see 5 great games a week all spring long.
Joliet area by far...way too consistent compared to other areas, and from experience, it gives one a little edge when he pursues a collegiate baseball career. Just thinking of the talent my class had and the class after me gives me chills...Perinar, Petrulis, Christensen, Graffy, Stalowy, Trader, K. Williams, Hollingsworth...and i could go on...
not to mention brandon sing who never went to college but was drafted and has been turning some heads in the minor leagues..... oh yea i forgot about joe benson who will be a great ATHLETE wherever he ends up..... and wells is right consistently the joliet area has d 1 players ever year... not saying that oak park doesnt but dont doubt us on our quality of players
