Hi Jeff, curious about whether you've been through the Advisor/Agent process? For those of us with kids who are coming up, it might be informative. Did they contact you? Did you call them? Have you chosen anyone? Just curious. Good luck to you.
Two things -

Didn't see Kyle Jackson listed as one of the ebst pitchers to come out of the state in the past 5 years, but he should certainly be on the list. Alvirne RHP with a 92mph fast ball in high school was drafted by the Red Sox in the 32nd round and did one year at a JUCO prior to signing. 1st full season of rookie ball he was the Gulf Coast Rookie of the year and ended last season playing for the Portland Seadogs (AA).

As for 16U and 18U teams in the area - the closest are all in Mass with the Lightning and Team New England being the only teams in the northeren part of the state. Most of the strong strong NH teams stop at 14U with a couple going to 15U. Main reasons are the lack of local teams to compete against and the conflicts with HS and Legion schedules.
Red Sock,

When it comes to agents/advisors people say a lot of different things. Yes you need one or no you don't. My family and i were clueless coming into all of this draft stuff until we did some homework for ourselves. When i went to Jupiter Florida to play in a WWBA World Championship put on by Perfect Game, i saw more agents then ever before. WHen i arrived home the phnoes rang off the hook and it was a very stressful time. We interviewed about 5 diffreent agents and even a couple of them twice. The meetings here all held at my house and my parents and i asked a lot of questions. When we finally made a decision on one we were happy and are hapy. we never pickedo ne becasue we had to have one or anything like that.. we picked one becasue we thought that it'd be in the best interest for me and my family. We chose the agency ACE'S becasue we felt that they were the best fit for me. If you have any other questions please feel free to email me at jeff8713@yahoo.com.....
thanks for showing interest...jeff locke NH

Wow, if there's one thing I've learned during the last couple of weeks of reviewing posts regarding Agents/Advisors is that some of them will say anything to get you to sign. If a company is lying about who they represent, it makes you wonder what else they are lying about. When I learned that Jeff had chosen ACES, I looked them up online. Sure enough, there was an article in a New Jersey paper quoting them as representing Willis. There was a retraction the next day - no doubt at the insistence of Willis's real agent. Is this something that's more common with the big companies? How do we check up on what they represent to us?
most of them will give you phone numbers of the refrences.my son has an advisor that i would trust with my life.i trust him with my sons future.it's like anything, you need to do your homework.i dare say if he was dontreles agent he would have had him on the phone.each case is different ,as you'll hear on this sight.ask questions ,the only dumb question is the one you didn't ask.
ACES never told me directly that they represented Willis. I saw the same article online that one of you saw and thought he was part of the family as well. It does not matter which agency represents who when it comes down to making a decision. What matters is what the agent can do for you.I'm happy with the decision that my family and I had by going with ACES. My decision on an agent had nothing to do with the guys that they represent. It does not matter to me if ACES had Dontrelle Willis or any other stud pitcher. It's about what they can do for you.
