As a two time World Record Holder and two time Olympic javelin thrower I have found this to be the best single resistance exerise for throwing. I am now 46 years old, been competing for 35 years, and never had any problems with my shoulder or elbow - nothing - no surgery - ever.

I have been clocked at 100mph throwing a baseball back in the mid 80's. Just a few months ago whilst throwing a golf ball as a demonstration it has been estimated my release speed might have been as high as 112mph.!!!!!

This is the dumbbell pullover I do:

I swim, do lots of specific stretches and medicine ball exericses too for a well balanced workout program.

And that makes the dumbell pullover the best exercise for a pitcher how? It doesnt even touch the external rotators of the humerus that are going to help slow the arm after delivery. You know, the ones most commonly injured in pitching.

Pitching is not all about speed. We have to hold it together also. Throwing 20 pitches 100 mph and then blowing up is not going to get much done.
