My son is a 2013, looking for a good liberal arts college with DIII baseball. His list contains several colleges in PA, such as Dickinson, Ursinus, Muhlenberg and Franklin & Marshall.

Is there a regional showcase he should sign up for where he could see a good sampling? I think Headfirst will have at least 3 of these, but I wanted to check to see if there's something in that area we should check out.

Thanks in advance.

Headfirst was a great one for my son. Several good Pa schools where there check their web site to see who went last year.... Selectfest is another great one but you have to be invited.

RJM suggestion of contacting All star is a good one they usually have showcases that have many of these schools

Good luck!
Directly email the coaches and have your son tell them of his interest in the schools. Also have him ask which showcases and camps they they plan on being at this summer. The head coaches are all good guys, and will more then likely let you know what they are doing. Why guess at and wonder?

Make sure you have him tell the coaches that he will be at the event, so they will know to look for him.

I am a M'berg alumni, and loved it there!

this year we. ourteam will be in a labor day showcase tournament in scranton and wil be playing at Misiricordia--we are talking with a few other colleges in PA as well----rather than them coming to us we go to them--the same with our NEW HAMPSHIRE TOURNAMENT in mid july-- we play at FRANKLIN PIERCE, SNHU, KEENE STATE AND ST ANSELMS
Re: Select Fest

If your son is in a showcase program the coach can get him invited. He will also need a pro scout reference. These aren't as hard to get as you might think. Some showcase and high school coaches (sometimes even umpires) are some level of scout.

Re: Selectfest. I am not sure if RJM was refering not being hard to get a pro recommendation or not hard getting an invite to Selectfest but I know good ball players that wanted to go to selectfest but did not get invite. So the early you start asking about it the better. IMO it was a very good showcase with great particpation by college coaches.
Hi twotex -

PA has so many of those terrific smaller LACs.

Juniata, Dickinson, Ursinus, Elizabethtown, Muhlenberg, F and M. DeSales, which is Catholic.

I know nothing about baseball at any of those places but all offer strong academics, supportive campus, with 'not impossible' admission criteria. I have had very happy students at most of them.

And, Drew in NJ is a gem for that tier of academics.
