The cream of the crop for Tallahassee will be Lincoln HS. They lost to Tate in the Regional Final and went 20-9 last year. Their junior class is loaded, including a returning All Big Bend pitcher. They also added Cole and Cory Figueroa from Florida High School, both of whom played for the Florida Bombers travel team out of Miami. They also had 9 others playing travel ball for the Cntral Florida Renegades, Florida Bandits, Nike North, and the Tallahassee Titans. Their pitching staff is going to be unreal.
2005 4A state champ Tate will have a tough time matching last year's record as they will be moving up to 5A and entering a very tough District 1...only two teams will move forward from this district which includes Pace, Niceville and Crestview, all of which should have strong teams this year. Tate should have a very good defense and decent enough offense with two D-1 signees helping lead the way (Jet Butler..Miss.State and Jake Hicks..Florida). The main question to be answered will be pitching depth.
