I know a few kids who have played in it. It is absolutely scouted but from what I recall it was regional type school list, I would hate top promise but I think all levels were represented so if you want to be in the Mid-Atlantic / NE for college do some research but I am certain it is legit.

We have a local HS coach who is very good and respected but no fan of travel baseball. He pushes it hard to quality kids who he develops for exposure.

see below, 2019 list, 2018 was similar. Every level is there in some fashion

Arcadia University, Binghamton, Bloomsburg, Bridgewater College, Catholic University, Coastal Caroline University, East Stroudsburg University, Elizabethtown College, Frostburg State University, George Mason, Goldey-Beacom College, Hood College, Kutztown, Lock Haven, Maryland Eastern Shore, Millersville University, Mount St. Mary's, North Carolina Central University, Penn State, Penn State Harrisburg, Penn State Hazelton, Penn State Mont Alto, Penn Tech, Seton Hill, Shenandoah University, Shippensburg University, Towson, West Chester University, Wilson College, York College, University of Maryland, University of Maryland Baltimore County, University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Pirates

$150 for a tryout isn't cheap, but it's not a money grab. I don't think I would have my kid tryout unless I thought he could make the team. I'd rather him attend a camp for that kind of money.

As far as ROI, I think it works best for kids who are already talking to a school, and that school says they'll come see you there. It also might be good for the kid who doesn't have a recruiting plan, but has the talent to stand out in the crowd.

I investigated it for my 2015 (back in the stone age), but it always seemed to conflict with travel tournaments that he didn't want to miss. This event does not carry the prestige of the Big 33 football game. I think football and baseball recruiting are just too different for that to be possible.

I agree with Midatlantic dad, there is no point attending an event like this unless the player has has some contact with the program.

If these are schools of interest to anyone, time to send out emails to the coaches. In fact 2022's and 2023's should be contacting  coaches at this time.

So am going to disagree with this, for the record I have no idea what type of player your son is.

I am familiar with quite a number of schools on the list in the D2 and D3 names. Many of them will be this event looking for any talent they see that jumps at them, also prior to the event they will be sending out feelers to their network of travel / HS guys to see if there are any names and or players they should be highlighting before hand to keep an eye on. If your son has talent he will receive contacts from some of schools based on the list of names posted from pervious years, that I can guarantee you from personal experience even without prior contact.

From a D2 perspective for the 2023 class in the Mid Atlantic area unless your son is a very top recruit and almost certainly a pitcher there will be nothing more then some casual looking over the this coming summer for a 2023. There will be more considerable more looking around come fall from the D2.

Virtually no D3 will be looking at 2023 this summer in any serious way other then to get to know you and maybe be on the radar for next year. They busy are filling the 2022 class as best as they can June / October. The D3's will be building a data base to start on in the fall, turn the juice on immediately come next spring /summer. There will be no active recruiting this summer from D3.

I have no issue with anything you have written. The player needs to make an effort to do their homework and figure out what's best for them going forward. If they do have a coach that they contact for recruits, that's great. If not, then what's the plan?

If they don't stand out in the crowd, IMO, is that a good and wise investment?

I made a suggestion. I made a suggestion because I know for a fact that if a coach has prior interest he will go to watch that player.

That's for coaches from every division.

This may be a dumb question, but how does one find out the coaches name and email address?  Is it listed on the website?

Yes, their names and emails should be listed on the baseball website. Your email should go to the RC, recruiting coach or to the pitching coach. If he is a position player than to the hitting coach.

My suggestion would be to prepare a resume as well as telling them that you ( the player) is interested in their program. This should be something you and your son can work on together.
