I know all the football coaches are fired up about it, what about the baseball people? It's UIL realignment day. Any thoughts? Is anyone nervous about who they will be facing in district next year? Where do you think your school will go? It's only 30 minutes away! I'm kinda fired up and I don't even have a horse in this race.

Sure was nice of the UIL to put Allen, the Plano schools, Boyd and Wylie in district 8-5A, REGION 1!!!!! I'll never figure that out. They did it two years ago and it is a beating for those schools heading out to regionals in far west Texas. Makes zero sense to me. I would have mentioned Jesuit, but they never catch a break during realignment.

6-5A is going to be tough with Coppell, the Lewisville schools and the green and black Dragons.

10-4A should be fun with HP, the Rockwall schools, Royce City, Greenville, Pearce, Turner and Newman Smith.

The UIL needs more 5A schools in Region I. This is directly from the UIL director. With Abilene Cooper dropping to 4A, that sent Abilene to the East and created the 10 team 5A district that stretches from Amarillo to San Angelo. Everybody knows that the population is dwindling in the west Texas areas.
The UIL had to add more 5A schools to Region I, hence the shift of 8-5A to R1.

Makes sense and I guess someone has to go, just odd that they pick the teams on the east side of the metromess instead of the district with Creekview, RISD, and the Dallas Schools.
