Two outs, normal ground ball hits base runner. Is the batter awarded a hit?

I'll defer to the experts, but I'll take a stab at how I'd score it. With less than two outs, play is called dead once the runner is struck, and hitter is awarded first and a base hit. I would think the same would apply with two outs, the hitter would be awarded a single, 3rd out recorded on the struck baserunner.

The runner is out. The hitter gets a hit. The fielder closest to the runner gets credit for an unassisted putout.
