There is a great chance that a (NY Councilman, proponent of the aluminim bat ban legislation) will be making this one of his signature events. We have a meeting Wednesday evening with him at his office. If this happens, this will turn to an all wood bat event. There will possibly be sponsorship from this Alderman and Controlling the Game for wood bats for ALL of the teams. The Staten Island Advance, NY Daily News and NY Post will all be giving this event full coverage as well.

Wood Bat Tournament - ALL DIVISIONS - Controlling the Game will be providing
2-3 wood bats per team for the tournament. We have additional funding in
place from Councilman Jim Oddo and a private Financial Advising Firm, to
purchase another 4 wood bats per team. In total, ALL teams will receive
approximately 6 Controlling the Game Wood bats per team just for
registration into the tournament! The estimated cost of donated bats will be
anywhere from $180-$300 per team!

There will be Team Trophies for the winning team in each division as well as
individual awards in the following categories, sponsored by Controlling the
Game:

Tournament MVP (One Award)
Most Valuable Player - Each Division
Cy Young Award - Each Division
Silver Slugger Award- Each Division
Gold Glove Award - Each Division

We have secured some of the best fields available for this tournament. The
College of Staten Island and Wagner College (Pictures attached) will be the
headline fields here for the 16U age group. We are in negotiations for use
of Richmond County Ballpark (Home of the Staten Island Yankees) for the
Championship games in the 14U and 16U divisions as well. Nationally
re-nowned programs South Shore Babe Ruth and Tottenville HS, will act as
hosts in the 14U division. Great Kills LL will be the host site for the 12U
and some of the 8U games. 10U and 8U will be played between New Springville
LL and West Shore LL. There are some other excellent High School fields and
Little League Complexes that we will be utilizing as well (New Dorp, Port
Richmond and Curtis HS, New Springville, West Shore and Verazzano Babe
Ruth). 12 fields in all, feature lighting for night games.

Hotel information is available by contacting Jim Clark at 631-366-1800. We
have 300 rooms reserved at different hotels in the area. All hotels are
within 15 minutes of the fields. Teams are urged to book their rooms early,
space in these hotels will disappear quickly.

So far we have teams registered from Canada, NY, NJ, CT, PA and MD. Team
list will be posted in the next week! Visit www.travelballselect.com and
