Undoubtedly, the Evil Empire will work out the details (nothing cash can't do, right?) and get Randy Johnson, but will he look weird in pin stripes or what?

Maybe a redesign will be in order. All those pinstripes running 82" from head to toe just won't look right.

And poor Jaret Wright-he finally gets his act back together for a year, and now his baseball therapy will continue in front of those Bronx fans famous for their patience with the unsuccessful?

The soap opera lives. Living, breathing, Fantasy Baseball.

I will always root against the Evil Empire, but I must confess I enjoy watching them and doing it. They may be many things, but dull isn't one of them.

Johnson was 16-14 this year with a 2.60 ERA on a "AAA" team. He was 13-2 in games that his club scored 2 or more runs. He averaged 8.1 baserunners for 9 innings, which is the best since Bob Gibson in 1968.

On the other side, the Red Sox signed Clement to a 3 year 25.5 million dollar deal and he was 9-13 this past year with a 3.68. He is 69-75 for his career and what puzzels me is that for about 8 1/2 million per year they get a guy who if he pitches like he has in the past will have a losing record. It is very confusing to me. Not for nothing but go back and read what I said--I asked how much Johnson has in his tank--I did not say he doesnt have much in the tank

He and Pedro are great pitchers but both on the home bound side--it will be interesting to see what happenPersonally I think Pedro should have stayed in Boston where he would be on a team that has a shot to repeat-- as for Randy the Diamondbacks seem to be putting together a team
they got Glaus adn Oriz for starters

Both could remained at home--- it is all about $$$$$$$$$$$$$ and the E G O
