Marcel Duarte CF, 2008 Bishop McLaughlin Catholic, 12-1, is playing outstanding both offense and defense, he has made some excellent catches, hitting over 400 with 27RBI's, 12 SB, no errors. All County and All State last season, He was unable to play during the summer due to a labrum SLAP small tear surgery. He has been working hard in his rehab and as of now, he is far ahead of the curve. He is almost 100%. Great student athlete, 1360 SAT, very solid CF.

Bishop McLaughlin centerfielder Marcel Duarte, first team all Pasco, third-team all-state selection last year and one of the Hurricanes' best hitters again this season, has orally committed to Johns Hopkins University, great school and baseball program.
Marcel led the Hurricanes with 39 RBIs last season and helped the Hurricanes to their first postseason and postseason win while batting .373 and scoring 25 runs, this season thus far he is leading the conference in RBIs with 34 listed 10th in the state while hitting .384
