crazy as it sounds son has started to get a blister on his right hand on the pad just below his middle finger. all of these pads are calloused, but for some reason this one has now started to blister. it doesn't make such sense that towards the end of the season this would happen after all the swings he has taken over the past 6 months. we have tried soaking in H20 and epson salt but wondered if anyone might have another suggestion for a "home" remedy. he is a switch hitter and it doesn't seem to bother him from the right side, only the left side where the blister is on the "lead" hand. thanks in advance for any helpful responses.

Thanks YG

Nolan Ryan used to soak his blisters in pickle juice. Due to the acidity, it'd help them callous up.

Some big leaguers that don't use batting gloves urinate on their hands in the shower. I'm not going to openly recommend that, but I suppose its an option. I know a few players at younger ages that have attempted the same.

I thought he did this to prevent blisters, not after he had one.

Son has used SuperGlue if he has one and he's about to pitch. But, he's never had a really big blister.

Have read articles about Stan's Rodeo Ointment, but have never seen anyone use it.

you need a prescription for the rodeo cream, never tried it ourselves. My son also tried pickle juice and the other. The only other suggestion i found on this site a couple years ago - that does work; is burrows solution. it is a great site!

sold in packs of 10-12 at pharmacies - about $10. use 1/3 - 1/2 pack in very hot water (2-3 oz) and soak 3-4 x per day.
You're going to laugh, but find some diaper rash cream. It will dry those blisters out quick..

Second skin works okay for blisters, but I'm not a huge fan of it. You'd see that if you walked into my athletic training room that none of us in the last few years are... there are 3-4 containers of them that the school kept buying!
