He had his fans. He had his detractors.

But, he made this board move. Check out some of the threads he was involved, and they were classics because his messages brought everyone into the conversation, one way or the other.

It didn't matter who you believed, him or those with whom he argued. The information
was being brought out.

Now..............booooorrrring!
Just my very humble opinion, but I think for the most part those here look to other places for real "information". What I've found is when they have it they share it. They don't lurk in the shadows waiting with one liners that amount to absolutely nothing helpful. When they see an opportuntiy to add something they do it. If they have nothing of any substance to add they stay out of it.

What you see as boring many see as the simple fact that an internet message board is not the place to "argue" about what is very important to some of these folks and their kids. Some see an anonymous venue as a place to play around and be controversial. Others see it as an avenue to try and be helpful.

What I see as boring is anything that wastes my time and that of others who have real questions.
Ahhh! I see your desire to not "argue" and your positive input comes through very well in these posts. Maybe you shouldn't have wasted your time posting here.

Since his last post, all I see are two threads on buying bats. Hardly the equivalent of this:

http://hsbaseballweb.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/8291034941/m/6271011151

which was, quite possibly one of the best threads on hitting on this board, and much of it brought on by Blue Dog and his detractors. As I said, sometimes Dog brought out the best in others who opposed his beliefs. That made for great reading.

If some were bored by Dog, it's because they want someone to hand them the answer. Dog prodded a reader to find it himself. The process of figuring it out often brought greater depth of knowledge. Too bad more readers didn't appreciate that.

PS. Your quote: "Just my very humble opinion, but I think for the most part those here look to other places for real "information".

I see you go to the pre-high school forum for your advice. Clearly, BD's stuff is a bit too complex for you.

Wayback,

You're exactly right..BlueDog was the catalyst that made the Short to Zone...Long through Zone such an excellent thread!

I have referred at least 50 kids to this thread for learning how to hit properly, and several have called since then and said, "Wow! I am crushing the ball now!!" or "My average has increased .50 points" etc etc. Good to see fruit from our labor here Wayback and I think everybody is just so busy with spring schedules, lessons, scouting and traveling until the activity has lowered in Hitting Forum. Good work on your part Wayback and all the others in that thread as well late in 2006, anyway.

I do wish those Maple Bats would post up somewhere else on board. It is a good product but not the instruction needed here for HS kids and youth players searching for the keys Smile

Take care Wayback and hope Wayback Jr is crushing the ball!!! Big Grin peace shep
