Senior Year is listed as a must read on my AARP book list.

We saw Sam at an American Legion showcase the summer after his freshman year. He hit bombs to left, center and right off of some excellent pitchers. That kid can hit!

It sounds mighty darn "real"

This is about the only book by Shaugnessy that I'd be tempted to read. Sounds like there'd be some things in it familiar to most baseball parents here.

He's not at BC, where is he?

I just visited the BC web-site...Sam's listed on their team roster, but doesn't appear in their 2007 official statisics. Maybe he was red-shirted this year?

I bought/read the book last weekend. I enjoyed it and much seemed familiar...particularly, the "sleep-overs" at their house by the baseball buddies. Sometimes, I don't know whether to claim "the regulars" as exemptions or deductions on my 1040...Man, can those kids eat!

BTW, my eldest and I watched David K. pitch on TV last weekend and were VERY impressed!

The name didn't sound familiar so I looked at the stats, didn't check the roster.

So IF he took a redshirt year, this is backup to what many of us state, doesn't matter how good you are coming into a program, most freshman DON'T play.
