Having watched replay of last years game 7 ALCS last nite, what a classic and just as sweet the second time around. I guess things could get worse for the BOSOX this year should they beat the Yanks in the ALCS only to lose game 7 of the World Series to the Astros as Pettite throws a gem. OUCH!

I hope you forgive me for not always taking the smilies at "face" value when the discussion revolves aroung the Sox and Yankees....lol

My use of the word kid is more about 'experience' than Soriano's age we've all read about. His last 3 years have been about learning how to play at the major league level and learning to play a new position. Arod's season's since 1996 give him the leg up on "experience"...vs. Soriano's full years since 2001.

TR...have you already issued the Red Sox an automatic entry to the WS?

Look at all the positives

01-- A new manager who I think Manny will get along with

02-- A load of players Nomar and Pedro included looking to have "career years" as it is contract time

03-- the addition of Schilling and Foulke

04-- the addiiton of Pokey Reese and Ellis Burks

05-- they added top notch players and gave away nothing, not to slight Walker, but they are nuch nuch stronger now than last season.

06--The Yankees pitching, to me anyway, is quite suspect--Kevin Brown already is missing time due to an ankle injury and ankle injuries for a pitcher can be season long. If Soriano is 28 how old is Contreras--40???

And I am not a Red Sox fan-- I am a Met fan

TRhit
I agree that they have had a nice winter.
But you, of all people, I know will understand when I say:
That is why we play the games....162 of them.
Anytime there are pitchers getting up in age
(both Red Sox and Yankees) you have to be hopeful for good health, you have to be a little lucky and you have to hope too, that all the personalities will live in harmony for a full season.

Neither New York or Boston are easy media cities. And the only egos being questioned are not just Arod and Jeter...a few funny match-ups in Boston, too.

Should be a fun and very entertaining season.
