I have a friend/ former co-worker in admissions there, too, maybe he can tell me more.
The only baseball related construction is when they rebuild the field after using it for football tailgate parking in the fall. You read that right folks. They let cars drive on the field and park. Then people fire up grills on the field. The coach will talk about the new baseball facility for which they haven't been able to get zoning approval for eight years. It's a good pitcher's park. The wind usually blows in from left off the reservoir. It's a good size park.

"Rebuild?" What "rebuild?"

Honestly, our outfielders were concerned about tripping and/or spraining an ankle in one of the ruts left over from the football tailgating.

Shameful.

My kids were raised in PA. The house I relocated to was our beach house. We have Thanksgiving here. One Thanksgiving weekend I took my son (fifteen at the time) to a BC football game that Saturday. He was horrified when he saw the baseball field being used for tailgating. You should see what the field looks like before they smooth (if you will) it out.

It remains to be seen whether the stadium plans will get thru zoning in the near future. As far as the field goes, in season from what I have seen the infield playing surface is well above average. From the naked eye the outfield appears to be very nice but that is a great question to ask an outfielder on your visit. The grounds crew does an amazing job. The stands are awful and the most fun place to watch is from the parking garage. Watching in April the wind was blowing out so we did see a few home runs.
Having said all that, you have to be tough to want to play at BC. I'm sure one could find something everyday to whine about there. It isn't a glamorous place for baseball. Make your checklist and prioritize.
