I was listening to the starting lineups intros and was pleasantly surprised at the Boston fans’ reaction when Dave Roberts was introduced. Good to know the town doesn’t have that short of a memory and shows respect when respect is earned.
Then they boo’d the rest of the Dodger lineup, as any good hometown fan is inclined to do.
Dave Roberts will always be a hero in Boston. Chances are Rich Hill will also get a good reception. He was a local high school stud.
He had a great month three years ago as a September call up coming off the scrap heap. A lot of fans hoped the Sox would resign him. He wanted to come back. The Sox thought the Dodgers overpaid for him and passed.
