All the talk regarding the parents and "why isn't my child playing"

My wife and I attend as many Univ of Hartford Hoops games, both ladies and men, as we can and we sit in section with the players parents are so we get to meet and know a lot of them on a more than casual basis.

There is a frosh on the ladies team, one of the top 50 teams in the country, and her uncle played four years in the NBA. We sit with her family and never a word from them regarding the young ladies playing time. AS the mom said to us ( She is a frosh. Her time will come.) AND SHE IS GETTING A FREE EDUCATION AT AN EXCELLENT EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION---

What is so bad with that scenario ???

Going from a HS star to a bench warmer isnt easy for the player nor her family.

For you parents just getting into this whole scene perhaps you can learn from this that I speak of.

Bottom Line---the young lady is a benchwarmer yes--but as a frosh she is two games away from being on a Conference Championship and a visit to the NCAA Big Dance.

How bad is that !!!! Think about it!!!

You would probably have a complaint or two less from parents if this were true in baseball. But it ain't!

True. But how many people in this country have the opportunity to be "guided" through college, at a reduced cost and at the same time live the dream a little longer at another level.

priceless IMHO.

btw- before I get ripped on the guided statement....athletes are very fortunate that they are kept on coarse
