Saw that Rupe was having a showcase in July. Is he really putting something on his website other than an apology and his account number at his bank? How can anyone possibly think about going to one of his showcases after the scam he ran with the 05 Oklahoma Select team? The word needs to get out that he is trying to hold a showcase. You can see it at http://www.oklahomaselectbaseball.org. What was his reason for not showing up for the tourney he was to sponsor? I really want to know. Does he think he is safe if he shows up at his showcase? The only showcase should be one that is testimonials of people whom he has scammed and the attorneys that are there to press charges. Something has to be done about his crook.

For those who are interested. Brian called me last Friday to tell me he was sending me a check on Monday. As soon as I recieve the check I will let you know.

He called me about, oh, 4 or 5 months ago to tell me he was sending out refunds for the Baylor camp 2 SUMMERS ago that got cancelled. I was asked to send a copy of a cancelled check, and I did and guess what? I haven't received a refund yet. I hope you have better luck than me.

I find it hard to believe that folks weren't more leary of him after last years topic regarding his bad business practices.
I have nothing to do with this guy and obviously never will. I just visited his website and was appalled at the lack of professionalism in his evaulation write-ups. When the typos come fast and furious it, to me, really shows a complete lack of respect for the player and the fee-paying parents.

This is shameful. It sucks when people like this hang around to tarnish the game.

ascmcktx, Rupe never notified the team that 10 players quit so we have no one of knowing. There were 8 players at the last practice before Rupe vanished with several players out of town. The coaches knew who was out of town so with those there were enough to field a team but I am sure that others quit and he never told us about that. He lead the players and coaches on that we had at least 16 players. Can you let me know the website that your saw this on? There are all kinds of people coming out of the woodwork saying how they have been scammed by this guy...since this happened. Can't something be done to stop him from doing this to more people?

Congrats to the Bears and the Horns on their "W's." You know I see where Rupe sure has alot of alumni at Baylor doesn't he and a nice number of players in the CWS according to his website (see below)WE should also ask all those parents to email MNmom and see how Rupe changed those kids baseball fuures as well. Let's here both sides his detractors and those who support him. I bet he helped many more kids through his camps and teams than he has hurt by walking away from a tourney. Rupe must have had his reasons which may or not be acceptable. Does anyone have the right to crucify the man in this forum? Has he really hurt you so bad that your willing to bury him the man. Stating or suggsting that he gambled the money away at the tracks or Vegas, come on fellow Texans.

Trojanparent, I read on an Oklahoma website that 10 players quit the team in the month of May, is that true? Those players were even listed on the site as well. Depending on how many players Oklahoma Select was gonna carry I would think it would have been hard to compete with that few of players, wouldn' it?

Three ways to deal with Rupester.

1. Never pay until the work is done. Like some contractors, you don't give them to final payment until ALL work is done. Otherwise, you may never get them to finish.

2. Legal action. Hard to believe someone hasn't already filed a claim against this guy and his organization.

3. Notify the Better Business Bureau and get him on file. This isn't going to get your money back, but it will help inform others of fraudlent activity.

I'm glad my business doesn't have a site like this where people can air their gripes because if they did I think many of us including myself would have been fired long ago.

Wow!!!!!!Please send me $450.00.times the many others,I wiil draw interest on 'Your Money' for a few month's and then just MAYBE send your money back............Come on Get with the program,Or are you that Naive???Don't take a Master's degree to figure this out..............Good Grief.......Rock'Me!!
I hesitate in participating in this as my intent is not to minimize what Mr. Rupe has accomplished for some in the past.

However, our organization was also scheduled to play in the OKC Showcase. We paid only a small deposit for both our teams. In May, we pulled out of it because of the poor communication and lack of organization, not to mention the full voice mail box and unanswered email.
Kevin Farr from the Traveler's put something together on late notice, apparently knowing the Showcase may not make. He was spot on.

Once Brian heard several of the teams originally schedule to participate in his deal were going West to El Reno, he was on the phone with all of us. He assured us everything was fine and good to go. You know the rest of the story.

The Elk City Traveler's are a classy organization and put together a neat little tourney between six teams that weekend on short notice.

This past Monday, our GM received a phone call from Brian, who told our GM he was going to be in town to drop off the check that day. Although intentions may be good, integrity still rules the day. I know some shame probably goes with Brian and perhaps he needs some grace for things I don't know about...and for that, prayers up.

However, from a business and organization end, people should beware.
But lets ask this question, if the Travellers hadn't put something together for us to actually get some games in, would you be smiling ascmcktx?

80-100 people took off of work, drove 200 miles to find out there wasn't a tournament.

It's a good sign that Brian paid Lynn the money back, but what he did, was reprehensible and unforgivable.
