Lincecum already said he can't grow one. Maybe he should cut off some from the top and make one for the face. Might actually look better.

I remember when the A's went funky with long locks and facial hair in the early 70s. Rollie still has his mustache. Worked for them, can work for the Giants.

Anytime you can make Jim Rome at least a little uncomfortable, that's a good thing.

As far as Wilson goes, I think baseball benefits from its characters and if one can carry the weight of being a character and still be a top performer, then more power to you.

Before the post-season, I couldn't figure out how Wilson made it work as he appears to have little in the way of stuff. But he stuffed my favorite team and appears to be a real bulldog. He might have a future teaching "mentality" camps.

TR, Bochy is frequently 'scruffy' looking. He often goes a few days without shaving.

As for Wilson, he can look however he wants as long as he performs like he does when he comes in. That upper 90's fastball might not show up as often as earlier in the season, but he's still stellar nearly every time he comes in. BTW, haven't seen him hit 100 for a few months now, but he has one very live arm!

I think Wilson and his teammate Romo look a lot like our old former baseball playing dictator Fidel Castro.

The A's of the early 70's grew the beards and mustaches when owner Charlie O. Finley offered either $100 or $300 dollars extra pay. Can you imagine ML players doing anything for $100 nowadays.

For those who remember Al Hrabosky, and his mannerisms on the mound as the "Mad Hungarian" closer for the Cardinals, I think they might find Brian Wilson to be close to an "altar boy."

Whenever I think about MLB players and money, I think about Rickey Henderson sticking a million dollar check on his refrigerator and not doing anything with it until the A's contacted him when their books were off the million. He didn't cash it. Makes me laugh.
