It's funny where the game of baseball takes us all. Case in point - JH's new job beginning for him in just a few months. I like most of you are quite proud for this young man and so happy to see good things happen to good people.

I was sitting around before my son's game today in the South's rendering of an artic blast waiting on the first pitch and his head coach mozies over to me and we talk about this and that. Sleek coach this man. Next thing I know I find myself volunteering to broadcast home games on weekends over the internet. I guess this gift of gab I have in my profession will be tested like never before now! I dont have a CLUE what I've gotten myself into! LOL

If I find out what the site is in time tomorrow before the game, I may try to come here and post the site and the game to look for if you're bored tomorrow, have absolutely NOTHING to do and want a great laugh! I also may ask any of you brave enough to listen to PM me if you're interested in giving me some feedback there as the game happens. I could use some good advise!

Well as I was on the way to the game the Coach called and said he didn't have his laptop ready with the account ready to go, and the link on the schedule for fans to listen wasn't there either. So, today didn't happen after all. However, he will have everything up and ready to go for next weekend! This will give me some time to do som perusing and learning about calling a game. lol.

FF, I had to laugh at that reply of yours. I could only imagine how that would go! I think the Coach told me I'd probably not be in the booth when he's on the mound. Smart man. hahaha

We swept all 3 games this weekend! Off to a 6-1 start.

I'll be back later in the week and post the website here so all of you who are interested can listen and give me feedback during for some pointers.

YGD - around digging out from all the snow we are having here in the NE, I am definitely looking forward to listening in. Your son's Lions are off to a great start!

You want to talk about a head rush broadcasting a live game! WOW! That was amazing and nerve wracking all at the same time. I want to thank Swampboy for the instant feedback on my cell by texting me and suggesting I slow down a tad and breathe. LOL. You can't imagine how caught up into the game and making sure you are keeping up with it and saying the right things periodically to the listeners. I made a few mistakes but learned from it.

I have a DH tomorrow that begins at 1pm. I did learn today that it's ok to be a couple seconds late after a play to process what just happened. lol.

If you're snowed in still and need to listen to some baseball to get your "fix", then tune it! it's suppose to be another pretty day tomorrow for some baseball.

When my son does come in Im not sure how I will handle that. He got hit by a pitch in the 3rd inning after shutting down a team for 2 innings and this weekend he's not starting. Go figure. I'm not the Coach so Im just putting my blinders on and keeping a smile on my face. It's his team, not mine.

Thanks to all who listened in today!

I want to apologize to anyone here who may have tried to log in today for the broadcast. Especially Gotwood! When you called I was STRESSING OUT about trying to figure out how to get the website up and running. I couldn't get it to work at all for either game. I was really bummed out and felt even sorrier for those families who had hoped to listen.

Next weekend it will be up and ready! I've been told!

p.s. Gotwood, that really meant a lot for you to call today. I only wish I could have stayed and chatted on the phone longer. I'm so sorry for leaving how I did but it was GO time and I was about to toss a laptop out the booth any second! lol

We're gonna try this again today around 4pm. Last Saturday we (being me) had technical difficulties but I believe (so Ive been told) that we should be up today and ready to broadcast.

Beautiful 60degrees here today! Great day for some baseball!

Go to goeclions.com and find the baseball schedule. There should be a link to listen live.

We have tinkered and done everything except open up the laptop to find out why we havent been able to get the broadcast up and running on Ustream.tv. It works one day and not a day since. It (the site) will not recognize our microphone. The laptop does. We've tested it. So, with that being said does anyone know of any other "free" live broadcasting sites that baseball games can be called live on? I know there are a couple that are "pay per game" and have heard they are very good. But we're working with a limited budget thus the "free" caveat. Or at worse case....a very minimal fee.

I'd really appreciate any suggestions anyone may have. OR, if you are a guru on how to use Ustream.tv and can lend a hand I'd really appreciate it.

I found out this weekend that CBS College Sports.com has a great set up for video broadcasting games. I looked for several games at schools of interest and found the afore mentioned provider at nearly every turn. I eventually signed up to watch a game at ODU where one of my son's former team-mates was starting. It looked like a home video as there was little to no audio and honestly looked like a dad running the camera, but it was much better than driving the four hours and sitting in the rain, wind and snow. As it turns out my subscription is for that school only (didn't read the fine print). as I continued to look for access it seems every school has their own way of broadcasting and I am guessing is used as a revenue stream. If you have enough interest(fans willing to pay), you might want to contact CBS and inquire how to get set up.
