I'm not a big fan of Mr Selig, and it is time for him to turn this over to someone more progressive.   Baseball has been left in the dust in the public consciousness to other major and minor sports.  There will always be die hard fans like us, but there are many old and new fans & families that need to be won over again.   He was just too slow to act, and too blind to see what was going on under his watch.  It is time, and there will be much rejoicing!

I have been a vocal critic of some of Selig's actions recently. I disagree with a lot of the rulings that come out and the ways by which the league takes part in it's policy making.

However, I don't think it's that difficult to comprehend the success and progression that the game has made during his reign as commissioner. Is all of the success his responsibility? No, certainly not. But he's had a hand in quite a bit of it.

While it may very well be time for a new set of eyes and ears (I do like the term "progressive), I find it difficult to criticize his accomplishments as a whole. As a business entity, both domestically and internationally, the game of baseball is in a completely different stratosphere than where it was prior to Selig assuming the position of commissioner...and, for the most part, in a very good way.

What a terrible, terrible thing to do!   Just a passing coincidence the park is named Fenway South.   It wasn't me.   I was in the Ft Myers hotel room last March with my wife watching Breaking Bad.
